Chronology of cameras Argus

Patent number 2,358,321, filed in 1940 and published in 1944 by Gustave Fassin, protects a camera with a retractable lens mounted on a spring.
The silhouette resembles that of the Argus M, and you can even see the two rivets on the front face.

__________

I was surprised by the small size of this Argus upon its reception, considering the sizes of the C3 and C4!
The lens is mounted on a retractable tube. It is protected by a small metal cover. The film advance button is located underneath the camera. The design of this camera follows the concept called "streamline." The closest French equivalent is the Photax Blindé.

This camera was sold for $7.50 in the USA in May 1940.
