The impression of robustness is even more marked than for contemporary Praktica. The Praktina is a superb piece of equipment, machined in the mass, perfectly finished and adjusted.
The specific bayonet with a locking ring is strongly reminiscent of the Canon A but is 20 years older.
The presence of the direct viewfinder is explained if we consider that this unit has no prism with rectifier, just with a ground glass. It then allows a quick eye level aiming.
The prism viewfinder is removable; there is one with integrated cell. We are in the presence of a professional equipment, forming a complete reflex system almost similarly to the Nikon F, Miranda and Exakta contemporaries. It can be associated with an electric motor or a spring motor for taking 12 views. A magazine for 17 meters of film can take place at the back etc ...
Here, this specimen is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Jena Flexon 2.0 / 50.
