Chronology of cameras Butcher
The choice of metal provides both great rigidity and a reduction in wall thickness, thereby decreasing the overall thickness of the camera. This is the main selling point of this camera, entirely constructed from metal.
It is the Model III from the Cameo camera series, with the others being predominantly made of wood and constructed very differently. The metal construction makes it lighter, for an equivalent negative size, compared to the Model I.
The Model III is a single-extension camera. The erecting viewfinder, complemented by a bubble level, is aligned with the camera's axis. The part supporting the shutter and lens is made of aluminum. The metal parts are either enameled in black or partially covered with faux leather. The moving parts are nickel-plated.
This model is available in only two sizes: 6 x 9 and 8.5 x 10 cm. The choice of lenses is more limited compared to other models in the series: Aldis Uno Anastigmat f/7.7, Zeiss Triotar Anastigmat f/6.3, and Dallmeyer Carfac f/6.3.
