Chronology of cameras Rollei
The Heidoscop was the first camera built by Franke & Heidecke, based strongly on the stereo cameras by Voigtlaender, to which both Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke had been attached. The model 111 (factory designation) was the second version for 4.5 x 10.7 cm plates for pairs of 4 x 4 cm frames. It was manufactured between 1925 and 1927 in a total of around 400 cameras.
The reflex hood is made of 4 articulated panels, having a ground glass for focusing including a bubble level and magnifying loupe. Viewing is made through a central Carl Zeiss Jena Triplet lens with 5.5 cm of focal length and f3.2. The viewing lens has no iris but its shaft controls the iris of both taking lenses. These are Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar with 5.5 cm of focal length and f4.5. The front has rise controlled by the knob at the bottom. The stereo-leaf shutter is of F&H design (DRGM 779426, type 64/2) and delivers speeds in the range 1 to 1/300 plus Z.
