Chronology of cameras Siva
Albert Gaget was a photographic equipment repairman. His workshop, located on Rue du Buisson Saint-Louis, bore the sign Mécanic Camera. In 1925, after showing interest in manufacturing equipment for cinema, he ventured into the production of cameras, starting with a plate camera called SIVA Box. He retained this name for all the cameras he produced thereafter, until he ceased manufacturing.
__________Le box est décliné en deux niveaux de finition : Luxe de couleur havane et viseur nickelé à 55 francs avec deux châssis, et standard avec un habillage imitation peau à 49 francs.
Cet exemplaire correspond à la finition la plus basique. Son viseur a disparu, il ne reste que le support dans lequel il était glissé. La face avant métallique porte l'inscription Mécanic Caméra et Déposé. Un petit levier, sous l'objectif, permet de déplacer la plaque percée qui fait office de diaphragme.
