Chronology of cameras Aires

This dual-format camera, capable of capturing both 6x6 and 4.5x6 frames on 120 film, stands as the sole medium-format folding camera produced by Aires. It appears to have been exclusively intended for export to India, hence its name.

Manufacturing for the Viceroy seems to have been carried out by Takane, a prominent Japanese specialist in folding cameras during that era.

The Viceroy is exquisitely crafted, refined, and luxurious, showcasing exemplary finishing. It features a unique viewfinder with a collimated frame, combined with a beautiful coupled rangefinder. Its lens is a Coral 3.5/75 with 3 elements, and the shutter is a SEIKOSHA MX offering speeds from one second to 1/500th, including a 'B' mode. Additionally, it has a "PC" flash sync socket but lacks a self-timer.

Extremely rare, it is believed that less than 2000 units were manufactured. The specific unit mentioned carries the serial number: 67075x on the body and 67025x on the lens.
