La sortie du Kr-10 suivit celle du Kr-5 de quelques mois. Il s'agit d'un appareil automatique avec priorité à l'ouverture débrayable et motorisable.
Il est doté d'un obturateur Copal permettant les vitesses de 1/1000 de seconde jusqu'à 4 secondes. La mesure de la lumière est TTL et assurée par trois cellules et un calculateur unique.
La synchronisation est assurée au 1/125 avec son flash spécifique XR Speedlight 240.
Il reçoit les objectifs à monture K.
En l'absence de piles (4 AA), la vitesse de 1/90 et la pose restent utilisables.
