Chronology of cameras Contessa-Nettel
Cocarette is the name of a series of folding cameras built by Contessa-Nettel, later by Zeiss Ikon following the merger of several brands.
They are available in the formats: 6 x 9, 6.5 x 11, 8 x 10.5, and 8 x 14, with three levels of finishing: economy, standard, or luxury. The latter is easily recognizable by the brown leather covering and Havana-colored leather bellows.
An instruction manual accompanying a copy allows for the establishment of this table of various models, but it is uncertain whether it is valid for the entire production period of the Cocarette. It's noted that the 127 format model is absent from this list.
Series \ Size | 6 x 9 cm | 6.5 x 11 cm | 8 x 10.5 cm | 8 x 14 cm | |
Economical | Leatherette | I/0 (210) | II/0 (220) | III/0 (240) | IV/0 (260) |
Normal | Fine leather Shift Focusing by radial lever |
I (211) | II (221) | III (241) | IV (261) |
De Luxe | Havana leather |
I Luxe (213) | II Luxe (223) | III Luxe (243) | IV Luxe (263) |
The precise identification of models is complex, especially since the models were produced under two brands, manufactured over many years, and underwent modifications.
Certain models exhibit distinctive features, with some being patented.
