C'est un compact très simple, doté d'une optique 4/35 mm, sans mise au point et d'un obturateur central à une seule vitesse, le 1/125 ème. Il n'y a pas de reconnaissance du codage DX des sensibilités. Le réglage manuel est accessible en façade, mais uniquement porte fermée.
Cet appareil sera remplacé par le YF-20N en 1995.
On notera la grande ressemblance avec l'Olympus Trip MD. Les deux appareils sortent sans doute de la même usine.
