Chronology of cameras KW

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

KW means Kamera-Werkstätten Guthe & Thorsch. This firm installed in Dresden constituted thereafter one of the elements of the Pentacon combine.
In the Photo-Plait catalogs, it is called “Reflex-film”.

““Reflex camera-Film K.W is a genuine SLR camera.

It allows simultaneously:
To see the subject such as it will be on the picture, even for the closer pictures.
To control the effect of the diaphragm (luminosity, depth of field).
To follow the focusing until the precise moment of release.
“Reflex camera-film K.W.” is not bulkier than an ordinary camera.
Its operation is very simple and practically fool-proof.
Its metal shutter, of a model lately patented, gives variable speeds until the 1/100 of second and the time exposure.
Its optics of high quality allows obtaining perfect and likely stereotypes of very strong enlargings.
Entirely out of metal, sheathed skin.
Provided with a nut for foot to operate in width, with a belt, “Reflex camera-film K.W.” can be load in full day, with films 6 X 9 of 8 pictures. "

Mrs. Legouix holds this camera from his father who bought it in 1935. She used it until about 1950.
Here its caracterisitics:
