Chronology of cameras Ihagee
In 1961, Ihagee "modernized" the Exakta Varex IIa by changing the plate located at the base of the lens which ends as the front plate of the viewfinder prism. If we compare with the 1957 model, we can assume that the new version was a simpler fabrication and therefore less expensive. Of course the result is less elegant than beautiful engraved or stamped letters.
The rest of the camera remains the same, with all its controls on the left hand.
The mirror remains in the up position after trigger.
There are three sockets for flash sync (X for electronic flash units, M for magnesic bulbs and F for small fast burning magnesic bulbs). There is no accessory shoe as the prism viewfinder is removable. It can be replaced by a ground glass.
