Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon

The Ideal is camera model initially designed by Huttig in 1908, it continued its career through the various mergers of manufacturers, within Ica in 1909 and then within Zeiss Ikon. Judging by the name given to the model in its catalogue, Photo-Plait struggled to manage the change, mixing the two brands names. Unless it is a marketing ploy to make the faithful of the Ica brand understand that despite its disappearance, not much has changed.

The Ideal models reference code is linked to the negatives formats:

Model Dimensions (cm)
Ideal 250/3 6,5 x 9
Ideal 250/7 9 x 12
Ideal 250/9 10 x 15
Ideal 250/11 13 x 18

The 250/9 is less popular than the smaller formats models. It was manufactured from 1927 to 1937, the one with Dominar and Compur only from 1927 to 1929. As the other models in the lineup, the 250/9 features the possibility of changing the shutter / lens unit. It is a high-end camera, very well made. The wooden body is covered with morocco. It features double extension and two-directions lens shift.
