UNIS signifierait "Union Nationale Inter-Syndicale" et correspondrait à un regroupement d'inudstriels désireux de protéger leurs fabrications contre la copie. Le sigle apparaît sur des constructions très diverses de l'entre-deux guerres.
On le trouve sur un certain nombre de visionneuses stéréo, mais aussi d'appareils photo.
Sur cet appareil, la marque apparaît sur le bord droit de la plaque avant qui supporte l'objectif, dans un dessin en forme d'ellipse. A l'opposé, il y a une inscription "Photo-France". Il s'agit ici d'un klapp à plaque ou film-pack 6,5 x 9 cm. L'obturateur est un Ensign Simplex II. L'objectif est noté anastigmat lense 1:6,8 Equi focus 4 inches - Sightrdel optical C° London".
La molette qui se trouve sur le corps de l'appareil sert au réglage de la distance. Elle fait se tendre plus ou moins le soufflet.
