Chronology of cameras Straight-Warehouse

Oto N° 298 : This small 4.5 x 6 klapp is very well built and shows perfect rigidity once opened thanks to the four nickel-plated tensioners. However, the photographic possibilities are limited.

There is no viewfinder, just two screws on the front that were supposed to allow for the attachment of a removable one, likely quickly lost.

The guillotine shutter is cocked by turning the large knob on the front, with the small one used to adjust speeds finely graded between 1 and 6, plus the B setting. Around the shutter release is a threaded hole to accommodate a specific cable release, but as the camera lacks a tripod socket, this feature seems hardly useful, as is the ground glass...

The lens is a "Straight Warehouse Paris Anastigmat Double Minor SW F=5c N° 00".

The front is decorated here with the profile of an Indian, with the words "It is an Oto".
