Chronology of cameras Contessa

This small klapp camera was built by Contessa and then incorporated into the Contessa-Nettel brand after the 1919 merger. It remained in catalogs until the mid-1920s.

It should not be confused with the Duchessa camera by Zeiss Ikon.

It is a lightweight, yet well-equipped camera: it features a 1/250 shutter speed, variable focus (a knob on the camera's top moves the scissors mechanism), and a foldable viewfinder (located behind the small round hole on the lens board) allowing photos to be taken in both orientations.
