Selon Mc Keown, Elop, contraction de Electro Optic, aurait été fondé à la fin de 1945. Cette société changera plusieurs fois de raison sociale au gré des vicissitudes financières.
Le premier appareil après la fin de la guerre, en 1947, fut l'Elca, un 24 x 24 sur film 35 mm.
Notre Ucanett aurait été produit à partir de 1951, c'est un Ulca II sur lequel a été ajouté une griffe porte-accessoire.
