Chronology of cameras Albini
Despite showing signs of aging, this magazine-box camera is of very decent craftsmanship, made of carefully assembled blackened wood and covered in grained leather.
Inside, on the front and back doors, you'll find the mention "Breveté SGDG" (patented without government guarantee), and the closure latches are marked F – O, indicating that this particular unit was intended for the French market.
The loading mechanism is unique—twelve plates remain together on a removable support, a system reminiscent, albeit much simpler, of Chautard's Foligraphe. The plate holders are specific, featuring two holes to guide them at the bottom and a peg at the top to secure and release them during replacement.
The front face opens like the rear door, allowing for the cleaning of viewfinders and the lens, as well as providing a view of the shutter mechanism, quite typical for this type of camera.
Beneath the name Alba, in golden letters, appears the acronym: J.C.L., the meaning of which is unknown.
Exemplaire numéroté 1803 sur le chariot porte-plaque.
