Chronology of cameras Ansco

Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.

During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."

__________

This American brand (from Binghamton, New York) had its destiny closely linked with the German brand Agfa for many years (from 1928 to the end of World War II), resulting in the existence of some models that were sometimes very similar under both names. However, this is not the case for this Clipper, which is typically American.

In the 1940s and 1950s, this camera would undergo many variations, both under the name Clipper and Champion. The principle remained the same: a metal body with an extractable metal front portion.
