Chronology of cameras Ansco
Two big eyes, a white snout, an all-black body, a white ear... That's probably what gives this little Ansco its name. It's a very simple camera without any adjustments. The viewfinder is a pseudo-reflex. The lens has an aperture of f/14, and the shutter allows for a 1/50 of a second exposure.
As noted by my friend from Quebec, Alain Laflamme, the name "Panda" is often partly erased, probably due to repeated finger friction during picture-taking, but mostly due to poor paint quality. This 620, made of bakelite, was produced during the 1940s.
Quite common in the North American market, it was sold for $4.54 in May 1950.
