Chronology of cameras Chinon
The name Monami echoes another model from the same brand, the Belami, which looks similar but features autofocus and a brighter lens.
The flash deploys each time the camera is opened but can be disabled by keeping the flash head closed. It triggers automatically in low light, but only after the diode on the right end has lit up. A sensor initiates the flash charge and lights a red diode in the viewfinder to indicate to the operator that the flash is needed. The camera includes a DX film speed decoding system that recognizes only 100, 200, and 400 ISO speeds. It is recommended to use negative film with a wide exposure latitude.
