De même que sur une autre version du Ricohflex B qui utilise le bloc obturateur du Vest Olympic, celle présentée ici utilise celui du Heil, une autre production de Asahi Kogaku Kogyo, filiale de Riken. Il semble que les blocs optique et obturateur des productions pour film 127 et 120 d'Asahi Bussan puis d'Asahi Kogaku Kogyo et de Riken (voir l'historique plus bas sur cette page) aient été assez interchangeables.
L'usage d'un dos à trois fenêtres indique que cette version est une des premières produites, les modèles plus récents n'en ayant qu'une.
Le nom "Heil" fait référence à l'alliance politique avec l'Allemagne nazie en cours pendant cette triste période.
