Chronology of cameras Balda

The post-war Baldax models adopt names from the 1930s, but Baldix is a new designation. The Baldax comes in 4.5 x 6 or 6 x 6 formats using 120 film, while the Baldix is a 6 x 6 format using either 120 or 620 film. Both the post-war Baldax models and the Baldix feature a hood that fully covers one side of the camera body. This hood includes an automatic counter for the Baldax, which is absent on the Baldix. The Baldix is available with a rangefinder, and in that case, it is called the Mess-Baldix. The Baldax also has its version with a coupled rangefinder, known as the Super Baldax.
