Rodenstock n'a jamais fabriqué d'appareils, mais montait ses objectifs sur des appareils d'autres fabricants (des Welta majoritairement) puis les vendait sous sa marque.
Le Clavorid II fait suite au Clavorid en 1934, selon Mc Keown. Il en diffère par un capot protégeant le télémètre et le viseur et couvrant la totalité du haut de l'appareil.
Le Clarovid est considéré comme un des tous premiers appareils ayant un télémètre couplé.
Ce folding a pour base un Welta Solida.
