Chronology of cameras Contessa-Nettel
The Citoskop is a stereo camera with an additional viewfinder that allows focusing. The viewfinder is linked to the rectangular front plate on which the two lenses are mounted. The same system can be found on the Voigtlander Stereflektoskop. Initially produced by Contessa-Nettel, the Citoskop continued its career in the Zeiss Ikon consortium under the name Citoskop 617/1 until 1931.
It produces stereo views of 45 x 107 mm. The shutter is a derivative of the Compur, allowing perfect synchronization of the two central shutters placed behind the Carl Zeiss Tessar lenses.
It is remarkable to note that its size was reduced between Contessa-Nettel and Zeiss Ikon, from 14.3 x 11 x 7 cm to 14 x 11.5 x 6 cm. At the same time, its weight decreased from 1230 g to 1180 g.
