Chronology of cameras Brichaut
The camera bears a plate with the address of the photographer Brichaut. This, located at 128 Rue Lafayette, allows dating it from 1892. It is possible that this model is "l'Enregistreur," one of the detectives manufactured by Brichaut. Similar to this one, the plate advancement system located above the camera progresses a view number indicator (from 0 to 11).
A rotary disc with four holes of different diameters, positioned in front of the lens, allows for different apertures. A front-facing lever switches between instantaneous (I) and long exposure (P).
