Chronology of cameras Contessa-Nettel
The Steroco is an entry-level stereoscopic binocular for 45 x 107 mm plates. Bearing the Contessa-Nettel brand, it dates back to before 1926.
It has three viewfinders: a folding sports finder on top, a direct viewfinder on top, and a ground glass preview.
The viewfinder between the two lenses was patented by Contessa-Nettel in 1924 (Patent DE405634).
Focusing is done with a lever that moves the front face. The shutter speeds go up to 1/250 and the apertures up to f/5.4. A fake shutter speed adjustment knob on the second lens maintains the symmetrical appearance of the device.
An American catalog from 1939 features a camera also named Steroco, but this one is completely different and has a different shutter (1/100 instead of 1/250) as well as a different winding mechanism.
