Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon

The Zeiss Ikon Nettel was made from 1929 (as the evolution of the Nettel Deckrullo) to 1937, and this particular model (870/7) was designed for glass plates and cut film holders of 9 x 12 cm.

The struts are the typical Nettel type, with automatic lock at infinity. The focusing is made by a knob above the shutter control on the right side of the camera, and scale in meters is located at the slot on the top of the camera. It has a direct vision frame and ground glass for accurate focusing.

The main difference with the previous Deckrullo model is the shutter design. The focal plane shutter is controlled by a single knob, and simpler to operate than previous versions of the Nettel camera. The combinations of spring tension and slit width are produced in a direct scale of exposure speeds. It delivers speeds from 1/3 to 1/2000 seconds and B and T. The lens is a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar of 15 cm of focal length and maximum aperture of 4.5.
