Chronology of cameras Ihagee

The Ihagee Sportkamera is a press type, strut folding camera produced between 1928 and 1939. It shares the body with the Ihagee Zweiverschluss. It is made of wood covered with black leather. From 1930 the optical folding viewfinder is replaced by a folding wire frame finder, which is the case of this particular camera designed for 9 x 12 cm plates or cut-film holders.

The focal plane shutter delivers speeds in the range 1/5 to 1/1000 s plus T – achieved by a combination of spring tension (numerical scale 1-3) and slit width. The same knob cocks the shutter (clockwise movement) and by raising the knob selects the slit width (3 to 80 mm).

Focusing is made helicoidally by a lever on the lens barrel. The front standard has horizontal movement and the lensboard has vertical movements, both operated by a single screw. The lens is a Carl Zeiss Jena of 15 cm of focal length and maximum aperture of 4.5 and minimum of 45.

This camera was sold by the British dealer Sands, Hunter & Co, and the distance scale is in feet.
