Chronology of cameras Kossatz
Konstantin Kossatz was a camera maker from Berlin, and is known to have made a number of models of large format reflex cameras from around 1898 to WWI. The cameras were distributed by several other makers, such as L.G. Kleffel, A. Hesekiel, R. Talbot or G. Rudenberg, among others. These cameras are rare nowadays, and the most well known example is the highly valued Hesekiel's Spiegel Reflex camera. In 1896 Kossatz registered the design DRGM 73653 regarding the reflex camera (namely the mirror rise mechanism), and in 1902 made the patent for the shutter (DRP 149210).
This particular camera is rebranded by L.G. Kleffel & Sohn, which apparently named the camera as 'Perfect'. It has a plate format of 12 x 16.5 cm and is fitted with a Goerz Doppel-Anastigmat of 240 mm of focal length and maximum aperture of 4.6. The shutter is a focal plane with variable tension.
