The XA was available in France in December 1979.
Its principal characteristics were (according to Phot' Argus n°98):
- Rangefinder camera with superposition coupled, with electronic central shutter
- Lens Zuiko F/2,8 of 35 mm with 6 lenses in five groups with internal focusing
- Minimal focusing
distance is : 0,85 m - Luminous framework finder magnifying X 0,56 with shutter speeds indication and signal of over-exposure
- Automatic exposure Measure with priority to the aperture
- Limits of coupling: from F/2,8 to 10 S (long exposure) with F/22 to the 1/500 S
- Voluntary correction of the exposure for back-light (+ 1,5 D)
- Range of sensitivity: 25-800 ASA
- Alimentation: 2 x 1,5 v batteries with silver oxide, standard UCAR EPX 76 or equivalent
- Built-in electronic retarder (12 S), with luminous witness (twinkling LED) and sound (ceramic vibrator)
