Chronology of cameras Universal
In 1948, Universal released two TLR cameras, the Uniflex I and the Uniflex II.
They are almost identical twins. The difference lies in their lens apertures.
The Uniflex II is equipped with a 4.5/75 mm shooting lens and a 3.8/75 mm viewing lens.
The viewing hood is fitted with a magnifier for focusing on the ground glass, and this hood can be used in a sports finder position. There is no protection against double exposures.
On the Uniflex II, the non-cocking shutter is called Flash Chronomatic.
Flash synchronization is ensured by the contact in the accessory shoe like all Universal cameras. This solution has been used since 1938 on the Mercury. This flash has the particularity of being mountable on all Universals with this accessory shoe.
In addition to the lens improvement, the Uniflex II offers greater user comfort, especially with the possibility of reading the aperture scale from above. With the Uniflex I, you have to look at the front of the camera to see the aperture values.
