Chronology of cameras Societe des appareils photographiques Papillon
Format 13 x 18 cm Papillon camera, fully made of aluminum coated with red morocco leather. Setting the camera for use is not very fast, the base needing to be clipped on the back and the front on the base ...
The focus adjustment is done by a rack system. rise and fall movement.
The ads of the time present a lens with the brand "Papillon" made from aluminum, which is not the case here. A shutter was to be placed on the lens. A special stand was also provided, which took place in the hole of the base.
The logo represents a butterfly, justified by the initials of the manufacturer: G. de Laperriere. (In French, initials are pronounced phonetically as ''j'ai deux ailes" which means "I have two wings" ...)
This unit is also available in format size 18 x 24 cm.
