Chronology of cameras Franka
Traduction de Pierre Yves Petit.
This nice 35mm rangefinder has a beautiful, distinctive design and is seriously manufactured. It is rather neglected and could use some fame…
The shutter is a PRONTOR SVS with speeds from 1s to 1/300th plus B.
There is a mechanical film counter on the cocking lever and a film reminder on top of the rewinding knob.
The finder doesn’t have a frame; the rangefinder image is yellow and diamond-shaped.
The lens is a 1:2.8 45mm Schneider-Kreuznach XENAR.
This camera had a reputation of reliability and optical quality.
This one is from 1957 and has two engravings: “Super” (shutter speed ring) and “Frankarette” (lens ring).
