Chronology of cameras Gerlach
Adolf Gerlach was a small manufacturer, based in Barmen, near the city of Wuppertal. Its production was modest qualitatively and in number of models. The brand had a short life.
The lens 7.7 / 75 mm of this camera is mounted at the end of a tube, rectractable and spring-mounted to facilitate its put into operation. A button next to the shutter is releasing the tube, which erects itself.
There are only two apertures 16 and 7.7, which can be chosen by a simple slider on the side of the lens.
The shutter has only one speed (about 1/30 th) and bulb exposure, selectable by a slider "B" or "M".
The distance adjustment is very rough, it is through rotation of the front lens.
Underneath, next to MADE IN GERMANY, it is also written "PATENT angem. DBGM", probably the equivalent of our (French) SGDG.
