Chronology of cameras Leica
This camera is specially dedicated to a scientific use. It does not have a viewfinder, which prohibits a "normal" use *. The first version was proposed in the 60s to be used on the Leitz copy stand "Reprovit" or for microphotography on a microscope.
It is equipped with a shutter ranging from the second to the thousandth and B. The housing has separate contacts for magnesic flash or electronic flash units.
14500 copies were manufactured from 1967 to 1976 and it has been replaced in 1977 by the Leica MD2.
* The MD enclosures can be used in conventional image if they fit the reflex finder system "Visoflex"
