Chronology of cameras Leica
Traduction de Christian Surle.
Coming back from the 1992 Photokina, Phot’Argus magazine was pretty mocking about model R7, presenting it as an R5 in which only the sticker and some inner details had been changed.
In order to moderate its words, the same magazine acknowledged that Leica was the only European brand to keep up with Japan.
The improvements made from R5 to R7 are TTL-measurement for the flash (together with SCA adapter), DX coding, and some ergonomic or interfacing devices for the user.
The best features of model R5 were maintained, such as multi-mode, but even these characteristics have been improved, especially in electronics.
In 1992, the body only was 2.500 € worth.
