Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
The Trona is a folding plate camera that arrived in the wedding basket of the companies that merged to form Zeiss Ikon. Previously this model existed under the Ica brand, which manufactured it since 1912.
At Zeiss Ikon, the Trona exists in several formats : 6.5 x 9 cm (110 or 210/3 or 214/3) or 9 x 12 cm (210/1, 210/7 or 214/7).
The Trona (210/3) bellows features double extension. It can be used with a plate (6.5 x 9) or with Film Packs (6 x 9). The body is made of a light alloy, covered with leather. Its two directions lens shift by micro metric screws makes it a good level camera.
It exists with many combinations of lens (Novar, Hekla, Dominar, Tessar), focal length (10.5 or 12 cm) and shutter (Automat X, Automat XI, Compur, Klio).
The variant shown on this page has a 4.5 / 10.5 cm Tessar lens and Compur shutter, making it the 210/3 U model.
The Trona (1450 francs) was still worth the equivalent of 14 Box-Tengor 54/2 (105 francs)!
