La première série d'Olympus 35 mm s'appelle ... Olympus 35, tout simplement. Elle est constituée de plusieurs modèles portant tous ce nom.
La version présentée ici n'a pas de tringlerie extérieure reliant le bouton du déclencheur à l'obturateur (à la manière d'un Kodak 35 RF). Son obturateur est un Copal. C'est pour cela qu'on sait que c'est un IVa.
