Chronology of cameras Action Line
Action Line was a trademark owned by M.M.S. International S.A., registered on June 29, 1987. This trademark is now expired. M.M.S. International has existed since 1976, and is still active. It is specialized in the marking of advertising objects.
The Action Line AC 110 is a gadget camera. It is a plastic parallelepiped of various colors. The 110 film cartridge fits completely inside. At the front, a piece of plastic that looks like a lens cover, but does not protect anything, rises and serves as a viewfinder, guaranteeing all possible framing errors.
A wheel at the bottom of the front face advances the film. The trigger is disproportionate to the whole.
The camera has been widely used as an advertising medium. Presumably it was made in China, unmarked, then printed locally.
Its date of manufacture is not precisely known, but certain markings such as Tour de France 91, Israel 90 or the telephone numbers1 of advertisers make it possible to date it approximately. One copy displays a trademark that was only registered in 1989.
Note that other cameras in the same spirit, are even more extreme, since the cartridge 110 is left more or less apparent.
1As the telephone number of a French business listed on this model only has 8 digits, this camera can be dated prior to October 1996, but later than 1985, the year of the transition from 6 to 8 digits and probably later than 1987, year of trademark registration.
