Chronology of cameras Ricoh

The R-70Q was probably manufactured after the RZ-735, and has exactly the same specifications. The two may have been intended for different world markets*.The lowest shutter speed (1/52 s) is about as low as could be hand held at 70 mm, but the camera has no capability for low light photography other than by use of the flash. It is small, neat and very quiet in operation. The design of the R-70Q has strong similarities to the Nikon One Touch Zoom 90 also made in Malaysia a couple of years later.

* The RZ-735 was an export only model launched in January 1998. The R-70Q was probably also for export, this one was first purchased in June 2000.
