Chronology of cameras Jougla
The 1904 catalog of the Maison des Magasins Réunis in Nancy contains an advertisement from the Maison L. Lesueur presenting "Le Sinnox," patented S. G. D. G.
"The first plate camera eliminating the need for a darkroom. The box of plates, as delivered by the manufacturer, can be loaded and unloaded in full light. Focus on ground glass. Format 9 x 12. Price starting from 68 francs."
In the Collector's File No. 13 by J.-L. Princelle, it is mentioned that in 1907, an administrator from Maison Jougla came to inquire "if the Mackenstein company was willing to undertake the production of Sinnox, as Maison Jougla was not capable of handling this production and did not want to compete with camera manufacturers."

Sinnox is a camera of great originality due to its loading method.
Six plates, each glued to a sheet of black paper, are contained in a sealed cardboard box that opens like a drawer. Each paper includes a fabric tab into which a needle is inserted after being placed in one of the six holes on another drawer connected to the camera.
Depending on the hole where the needle is, the drawer pulls out from 1 to 6 plates from the camera.

Ce modèle, de genre klapp, comprend quatre bras articulés, qui engrainent deux à deux de façon à assurer le parallélisme. Il est maintenu ouvert par une joue interne en deux morceaux reliés par une charnière. Une extrémité de la joue est fixée à la platine alors que l’autre est libre et vient s’appuyer par une lame en aluminium sur un bord de la plaque à exposer. Ainsi, la platine est toujours à la même distance de la surface sensible, quel que soit le nombre de plaques restant dans l’appareil. Si toutes les plaques sont dans le tiroir, il est même possible de faire la mise au point sur le verre dépoli.
Le mécanisme est assez complexe, et il ne faut mettre l’appareil en batterie qu’après avoir tirer le magasin-tiroir, et le replier avant de refermer le tiroir… Cela explique que les exemplaires que l’on rencontre sont tous bloqués…
L'objectif est gravé SINNOX, et les deux palettes de l'obturateur sont en bakélite.
