Chronology of cameras Hasselblad
This is the stereoscopic version of the Svenska Express, made by Hugo Svensson in Gothenburg, and distributed exclusively by F.W. Hasselblad & Co during the first years of production. It is a high-quality copy of the Murer Express Stereoscopic, and was made between 1895 and circa 1905. It is present in Hasselblad catalogues of this time interval under slightly varying names, such as Svenska Stereoskop-Express, Express-Stereoskop or Svenska Stereoskop-Kamera Express. Between 1900 and 1905, it was referred to generically also as Hand Camera No.2, while in earlier catalogues, it could be referred to as Svenska Express No. 10.
It is designed for 12 plates in 8¼ x 17cm or 24 single frames in 8¼ x 8¼ cm format. It has a pair of simple 125mm lenses with a maximum aperture of f11, and a double circular guillotine shutter with time and variable instantaneous exposures, delivering speeds of 1 to 1/100 plus T. It has one brilliant central finder. This specimen has the Hasselblad nameplate and also the plate of the distributor E. Nerlien.
