Chronology of cameras Universal
In 1948, Universal released three folding cameras: the Roamer I, the Roamer II, and the Roamer 63. These cameras had a modern aesthetic for the 1940s and were constructed with quality materials. However, their technical specifications, especially those of the Roamer I, which used the Meteor shutter, were quite basic.
The Roamer gained notoriety for being the camera used to capture the controversial UFO photographs taken by Paul Trent in McMinnville, Oregon, in 1950.
The selling price of the Roamer I in 1948 was $29.75.
