Chronology of cameras Leidolf

The Leidox I was one of the first cameras of the brand. It is a very basic camera. The fact that it does not have a rewind button prevents us from thinking about a 135 format. Indeed, it requires 127 format film; which yields 12 square negatives of 4 cm on each side. Its features are decidedly those of a low-end camera: the lens is a triplet, its Vario shutter has only three shutter speeds and the B setting (however, it can be found with a Pronto or Prontor S), its coating is a frosted black paint.

Its method of opening the back is original since it is done by turning the two rotary knobs that also serve for the neck strap.

Film advancement is done by observing the frame number through a classic small window equipped with a red filter. Beware of unintended double exposures as there is no linkage between film advancement and the shutter!
