Chronology of cameras Polaroid

The Polaroid Macro 5 SLR 1200 is a specialized reflex camera intended preferentially for professionals in the medical world (dentists, surgeons, etc.) or industrialists who need to take pictures of small objects. Rather cumbersome since it fits into the volume of a cube with 28 cm sides.

The significant use of plastic in its manufacture fortunately limits its weight. The shutter release on the right handle is ergonomic and well positioned.

A large rotary knob placed on the top allows you to select the magnification of the object to be photographed and indicates the shooting distance between the camera and the object.

It allows reproduction ratios of: 0.2X (20%), 0.40 (40%), 1X (100%), 2X (200%), 3X (300%). The lens corresponding to each of these magnifications is built into the camera; so there are no props to fiddle with when changing gear ratios.

The camera incorporates two electronic flashes, controlled by a micro-processor which allows perfect exposure at all shooting ratios. Flashes can be used individually for profile lighting or in combination with other light sources.

Other features:

- Two light spots help you place the camera the right distance from the subject for a sharp image.

- The time and date module allows you to print this information on the photo.

- Mounting on a tripod or copy stand.

- The viewfinder is collimated for better framing.

The camera uses high definition Polaroid color film. 990 film is recommended. GridFilm and Image film can also be used. Each film pack contains 10 frames and a battery that powers the exposure cell, flashes and film advance motor. These highly sensitive films (640 ISO / 29°) are balanced for electronic flash and daylight (5500°K) and produce color hard copies.
