Chronology of cameras Gerlach

The Gerlach Nixette has an original mechanical system for the deployment of the bellows, the front is enclosed in a sort of arc pivotally controlled by a double powerful spring. Handling is overwhelming and ends with a satisfying thud. The bellows on the sides, folds like a sheet of paper and non like an accordion.

A bent wire serves both as a support between the lens and the bed and also as a protection for the trigger when it lift up to fold the bellows. Finally, the trigger is a bent flat blade to be tilted to the right. It is difficult to imagine that all this can enter the camera body!

Distances are given in feet as starting at 3, which confirms that the Nixette is the export version of the Trixette.
