Le Vitomatic II fut remplacé par le Vitomatic IIa en 1960. Un autre modèle, avec ce même nom, mais sans fixation pour courroie de cou, arrivera en 1963.
Le premier Vitomatic se contente d'un obturateur Gauthier Prontor SLK dont la vitesse maximale est le 1/300ème de seconde. Le Vitomatic IIa aura un Prontor SLK au 1/500.
