Chronology of cameras Canon
This Canon APS compact has no other name in Europe than the one provided by its model number Z60 IX. In the USA, it's known as the ELPH 260Z. It's a rare case of a Canon APS compact that does not belong to the Ixus series.
Fully automatic, it offers all the possibilities provided by the IX 240 film (ability to change film mid-roll with the last exposed negative remembered; recording of shooting parameters; choice of 3 formats via masking; date/time stamp; etc.).
It's compact and lightweight, and its electric zoom is limited to a factor of 2 (30 to 60 mm). The viewfinder provides a real image, depending on the zoom factor and the chosen format (C, H, and P). The automatic flash can be adjusted (auto; fill-in; slow sync; flash off).
Despite its relatively dim lens (f/4 at wide angle and f/7.6 at zoom), it was considered to have quality optics due to its structure: 7 elements in 7 groups.
