Chronology of cameras Adox

The Sport IA can have a 105/4.5 Schneider Radionar or a 105/4.5 Steinheil Cassar.

The example here has a Cassar, but that doesn’t change much.

The Sport IA is differentiated from the Sport I by the “A” .. and by a completely redesigned top cover, integrating the finder with an accessory shoe.  The Sport IA has a Pronto shutter, the Sport IIA a Prontor S, and the Sport IIIA a Prontor SV (according to McKeown's).

As can be seen on the camera’s back, it is multi-format.  It can shoot 6x9 or 6x45 thanks to a moveable internal mask that is often lost.

This camera is the archetype of the popular camera made in Germany from the end of the war until the mid-‘50s.
