Chronology of cameras Galileo

The Condor II is a compact rangefinder camera of high range from the Condor family, made by Officine Galileo and sold under their own brand or Ferrania's. On this copy, the Officine Galileo brand is embossed in the leatherette on the back.

The Condor II brings several improvements to the Condor I variants: a very bright ESAOG lens opening to f/2, a rangefinder window included in the viewfinder, an advance lever (with a film sensibility reminder that is missing on the copy above, a folding rewind crank. The Iscus Rapid shutter allows speeds up to 1/500th of a second.

This is a heavy camera, 725 g, and the lens barrel is retractible. Once deployed, a metal plate under the shoe can be rotated and helps the camera stay straight.
